In Fall, 2020, the Mel and Leta Ramos Family Foundation funded its first Apprenticeship in partnership with Los Angeles Contemporary Exhibitions (LACE), extended through 2021. LACE offers undergraduates and recent graduates the opportunity to participate in the gallery’s programming while gaining experience at a non-profit arts organization. The Apprenticeship Program provides training in areas such as administration, development, research, communications, exhibition and event production, and facility operations. Apprenticeship is a cornerstone of LACE’s ethos and legacy with many arts professionals gaining early work experience there, with many moving on to prominent placements with arts organizations and museums in California and beyond.
